My kids know not to ask me any questions in the morning until I have consumed at least a mug full of joe. I made these Grinch Before Coffee mugs that I use during the holidays so I thought I needed some for Halloween when I am clearly a Witch Before Coffee!
Witch Before Coffee Mug Supplies
- Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine
- Permanent Vinyl in your choice of colors
- Weeding Hook
- Transfer Tape
- Rubbing Alcohol/Paper towel
- Your favorite Mug (Ceramic Mugs | Stainless Mugs w/lids|Camp Mug)
I did a combination of hand lettering the word witch and drew the witch hat using my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil and then used block fonts for the rest of the words. You can completely omit the witch hat if you would like, it’s a separate layer.
How to Make a Witch Before Coffee Mug
Time needed: 15 minutes
Make your own Halloween Witch Before Coffee (or Tea) Mug this holiday season!
- Upload the Witch Before Coffee SVG
Upload the Halloween Coffee Mug SVG into the software for your cutting machine.

Measure your coffee mug. Resize the design if needed.
- Cut the Design
Apply your vinyl to your mat and cut the design using your electronic cutting machine.

- Weed the excess vinyl
Using the weeding hook, remove the excess vinyl away from your design leaving only your Witch Mug design on the vinyl paper backing.
- Prepare Blank
Clean the surface of your mug using rubbing alcohol and a paper towel. This step is important to ensure proper adhesion of the vinyl.
- Transfer the Vinyl Design
Cover your vinyl with transfer tape and smooth with a scraper. Peel away the paper vinyl backing leaving the vinyl design on your transfer tape. Carefully apply the vinyl and transfer tape to your mug. Smooth down again and carefully remove the transfer tape leaving the vinyl on your mug.
