It’s no secret that I love sweaters! Especially this time of the year! They are so warm and cozy and I LOVE to up-cycle them into fun things! Today I am sharing my Sweater Sleeve Wine Bottle Gift Bags! These are perfect for those bottles of wine you are gifting this year as well as for host/hostess gifts, housewarming parties and special occasions! The Sweater Sleeve just makes it “cozy” for the holidays!
Supplies Needed:
- Old or thrifted sweater
- Scissors
- Sewing Machine & Thread
- Ribbon
- Pen or marker
I started off by cutting 12 inches of the sleeve off.
Then using a marker I quickly outlined the bottom of a wine bottle + a bit for seam allowance and cut out of my sweater. Make sure to mark on your wrong side.
Turn the sleeve inside out so the wrong side is facing outward. Match the circle to the cut edge of the sleeve and sew together around the circle. If your sweater sleeve is larger than your circle you might have to make a small dart for the extra. Don’t worry it wont’ show when you flip it right side out. Turn right side out and add a bottle of wine and a ribbon!
I also up-cycled a thrifted sweater into my Camera Strap and it’s on my camera strap right now!
Or how about a fun coffee cozy with a sweater sleeve too!
I invite you to link up to my Holiday Happenings Link Party going on now through the first week of January! Anything holiday goes! You can also check out my past 2 years of projects from the 25 Days of Christmas Series here. So much holiday fun!
