I am really excited about this post guys! Not only did I make a super rad screencast for you all, I am sharing a cute project to make with your Silhouette as well as some awesome deals AND I also get to give a SILHOUETTE Portrait away to a lucky duck that’s reading right now! Yes, it could be YOU!!!
You all know how much I love my Silhouette Cameo. I talk about her all the time. She is so purrrrtyy! Her name is Cammie and she and I are BFF’s. Like seriously. When my friends come over to visit or to craft, I have to keep a close eye on Cammie because they all threaten to steal her from me! She’s seriously that awesome!
If you don’t know already, Silhouette America offers electronic cutting machines that make crafting, scrapbooking and card-making a breeze! You can cut intricate designs, cut vinyl, make stencils, use fabric ink, sketch pens, tattoos, magnets and so much more! It is really a crafters dream product!
Silhouette is having some awesome deals going on right now!
$179.99 for Silhouette PortraitTM & Silhouette Studio Designer Edition
$269.99 for Silhouette CAMEO & Silhouette Studio Designer Edition
$24.99 for Silhouette Studio Designer Edition
Why would you want the designer edition of the software you ask? Well let me tell you! The designer edition has:
- guides and rulers to help with your placement and sizing
- supports .svg files types
- has advanced knife and eraser tools {that come in really handy when you are trying to make a design “Just perfect!”}
- ability to convert designs into rhinestone designs
- ability to convert designs into sketch designs
- eyedropper tool to transfer image properties
- adjustable pivot point.
For my shamrock banner that I hung on my front door, I used the sketch feature! {Yes, I know…I put a banner on my door and not a wreath! I am such a rebel!} I used some clean line shamrock shapes and then converted them to sketch designs and used the sketch pens to put them on paper. I cut out the scallops and the green backing circles and applied to burlap pennants. A little hot glue with some ribbon and I was set! To show you how awesome the sketch feature is…I made this little screencast with the full tutorial! {I hope I don’t always sound so weird in real life!}

There are so many possibilities, but I would love to make banners for the holiday’s and cute wall hangings. The transfer paper sounds great too. Really liking that sketch feature.

I would make monogram stencils to frost my wine glasses and I would finish up a decoupage project I’ve been working on forever because it’s taken so long to cut out all the paper petals!

I have wanted a Silhouette for like a year. Thanks for the chance to win!

The first thing I would make would be a card with super intricate, tiny flourishes because I have seen this machine do that and it is amazing. My current (other brand) of machine is hugely disappointing where tiny is concerned :)
