I had the best time at SNAP! Just let me stop there! I will share all the awesome details of my trip soon but I would LOVE to share with you these personalized notebooks that I made for my awesome roomies!
Besides meeting people in real life, the late night talks, riding back to the hotel in the trunk of a Suburban and swag out of the wazoo…there are actual classes! Learning experiences to grow your blog, sharpen your skills or learn a new trick! I wanted my roommates to have something that was THEM to take to the classes to jot down notes! These were not hard at all and they are TOTALLY CUSTOMIZABLE. You can make them for yourself, your kids, your mom’s group or even to use as a household notebook or journal!!
Supplies Needed:
- Composition Notebook (found at dollar tree)
- Print of your notebook design on Cardstock
- Xacto knife
- Mod Podge
- Mod Podge Brush or foam brush
- Washi Tape
- Ruler
To start off…I measured the notebook to get an idea of how large I needed my design. I created my images in Photoshop Elements. I copied my friend’s blog headers and backgrounds for their notebooks! I made my image about 5% larger than the measurements so that I could trim and still have the background image reach all the way to the edges of the notebook!
I then poured a bit of Mod Podge on the notebook and then spread it evenly with my brush. {I recommend applying the glue to the notebook versus the cardstock because the cardstock will curl when it gets saturated with the glue}
{Can I just say how much I love that brush{pictured in the supply photo)! It took no time at all to get the notebook covered! Love it!} Make sure to get the edges of the book covered really well, including the binding area of the notebook.
I centered the image and placed on the notebook, smoothing out any bubbles. I let dry for about 10 minutes.
I then went back and trimmed the edges of the cardstock with an Xacto knife. You have to press hard so make sure you have a cutting board or mat under your paper! You can use the ruler as a guide but I found the cardboard on the notebook was thick and strong enough to act as a straight edge! Flip your book/cover over backwards and start trimming!
Just to make sure the image stayed right where it should, I used a strip of corresponding washi tape to secure to the binding or bend of the notebook!
Trim the edges flush and straight with your Xacto knife.
I loved how they turned out and I was so happy to hear all the nice comments on them while we were in classes! My roommates can now use this notebook to jot down contact names, ideas for blog posts or just as a journal. I totally meant to write them a little note in the cover to tell them how excited I was to room with them…but I ran out of time so this post will have to do…’Roomies, I love you and I can’t wait for next year!”
Do you want to know what else was in their roommate gifts? Well I am going to show you!
Besides the notebooks, I also included these cute pillow box business card holders! I made some similar with washi tape for my friends when I went to BBC. For these, I used my Cameo to cut out the SNAP logo ad then I punched a hole and put on a ring so that they could attach to their purse handle and collect the cards in the pillow box!
I also found these adorable straw cups that reminded me of the SNAP asterisk and I included a nail polish, a roll of washi tape (my fave!), a rosette cuff bracelet from my shop
I miss my roomies! Have you been introduced to them yet? Well, let me do the honors if not! They are quite awesome!

I’m about a bajillion days late, but I didn’t think those notebooks could get any cuter, but somehow your post is maximum cuteness!! And guess what?? I actually used my notebook today while I was wearing my bracelet! Not even joking!!! Thanks so much for the roomie swag and being so sweet!
