A tropical Frozen Mango Margarita Recipe that will take you to heaven! The sweetness of the mangoes paired with a light tequila is a great choice for summer patio drinks! A tropical-inspired mango margarita recipe includes common ingredients like blanco tequila, frozen mango chunks, fresh lime juice, and triple sec. You can make a single glass (but why?) or a whole pitcher!
I am making frozen mango margaritas today but if you want to make this on the rocks it is really simple to adapt the recipe! Instead of freezing mango cubes, you will puree and strain the mangoes then mix as directed and pour over ice!

How to Make Frozen Mango Margaritas
First, we will peel and remove the pit from the fresh mangoes. Cut the mango flesh into cubes.
Next, lay the cubes on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer. You can find more information on my freezing fruit post. Pop into the freezer for 2-4 hours.
Next, we will add the frozen mango chunks, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and ice cubes to a blender. I love my blendtec blender but any blender that can make smoothies will work great!
Blend until smooth. I use the smoothie setting on my blender and it works great. Some have a frozen drink setting and that works too!
TIP: Give the frozen margarita a taste test. If your mangoes are not fully sweet and ripe you may need to add a bit of simple syrup or honey to the margarita to sweeten it up. Sweeten to your personal preference.
Use a lime wedge to wet the rims of your glasses and here you can add whatever you prefer for a rim garnish. Some great options are sugar, salt or tajin.
Pour the mango margarita into your rimmed glasses and garnish! Some great garnish options are lime, mint leaves, jalapenos or a mango chunk.
Mango Margarita Variations
- Add a few jalapeno slices to your blender before blending to make this a spicy mango margarita! Garnish with tajin and jalapeno slices!
- Instead of freezing, blend the mangoes and add the puree to a cocktail shaker with margarita ingredients, shake, and strain over ice for an on the rocks options!
- Float some strawberry puree on the top for a strawberry mango margarita option. Check out my Lazy Girl strawberry pineapple margarita here, it uses orange juice concentrate!\
