Supplies for Hallmark Christmas Movie T-Shirt:
- Cricut Explore Air or Cricut Maker
- Iron-on Vinyl (I used Patterned and Everyday)
- EasyPress 2 & Mat (I used 12×10 size)
- Weeding Hook
- Your favorite comfy shirt (this one, or this one, or this one, or this one )
How to Make a Hallmark Movie Shirt:
Cutting the Holiday SVG:
Upload the SVG file into Cricut Design Space. You can find detailed instructions on how to do that here.
Once in Design Space, resize the image to fit your shirt.
Click the green Make It button in the upper right corner of the canvas screen.
On the next screen, you will select your machine and also select your material. I used Patterned Iron-on and Everyday Iron-on.
TIP: Click Browse to see all the material options. Glitter Iron on is a fun material to use as well!
Next, load your mat with the appropriate vinyl and follow the on-screen instructions.
Use the hook tool to weed the iron on (remove the excess vinyl from your design).
Pressing the Holiday T-Shirt:
When using different types of iron on it’s important to press them in the appropriate order. You should press the highest temperature to the lowest if your design allows.
To find the temperature settings, refer to the EasyPress Recommended Settings page. It’s interactive and simple to use.
Patterned Iron-on needs 340 degrees and Everyday Iron-on needs 315F so we will start with the patterned.
I stack all my pieces of my design on top of one another in the order they will be pressed. I line them all up on the shirt to get my spacing and orientation. Then I remove all the layers but the first which will be the coffee mug since I used patterned vinyl.
Press for the recommended time settings and peel for the recommended peel settings.
Continue on with the remaining layers.
TIP: Trim the clear carrier sheet so that you can press like layers at the same time
The work is done! It’s Hallmark Channel Christmas Movie Marathon time! Oh, wait, before you get to the marathon be sure to check out my friends’ awesome projects as well!
