How to Create a Monogram

Monograms are always a fan favorite and if you haven’t made one before I urge you to check out this How to Make a Monogram in Cricut Design Space post. It covers how you put letters for a monogram (order of initials), different types of monograms.

Don’t worry Silhouette users, the method is completely transferrable to Silhouette Studio!

Monogram Fonts

Better yet, I have this post with 30+ of my Favorite FREE Monogram Fonts to use! You can use these fonts to create a simple streamlined monograms or more decorative and fancy monograms.

Besides cutting the monogram borders with your Cricut or Silhouette machine from craft vinyl or iron-on you can also use the .png file to create cards, stationery or wedding invites.

How to Use Monogram Borders

You can add the monogram border vector file before or after you create a monogram. Sometimes the border can be helpful for sizing, other users like to create it and then add the border and size all together.

After you create the monogram and upload the border, it will be important to “attach” the two pieces if using Cricut Design Space or to “make” the compound path if using Silhouette Studio.

These steps will ensure the 2 pieces are cut together!
