Today let’s talk about table bling shall we? I am sharing some Embellished Serving Utensils for your Holiday Table! Shouldn’t we have fabulous utensils to serve the food we spent all day making?!? I don’t know why not! Let’s get started!
Supplies Needed:
- Serving Utensils (I located quality ones at Dollar Tree!)
- Large square plastic beads
- Silver Craft/Jewelry wire
- Wire snips and small needle nosed pliers
Let’s do this! Essentially you will wrap the handles with the wire, add the beads and finish by wrapping the wire again but I will take you step by step! I am going to show the picture and then explain it underneath! Cool…let’s go!
Start at the lower end of your utensil. Leave about 3 inches of wire out as excess to wrap with.
Wrap your wire tightly around the utensil neck leaving the excess as is.
Loop your excess length around and through the 3-4 wrappings. Pull tight.
Repeat this looping and pulling several times until you feel it is good and tight. Snip away any left over wire as close to the knot as you can.
Next thread on a bead. I started with a lime green one. Wrap the wire around the neck of the utensil just half a turn so that it’s back on the bottom side of the handle.
Next I added a smaller red one. I wrapped another half turn.
Add your third bead and then wrap the wire tightly 3-4 times, just like you did in the beginning.
Just like in the beginning, loop your excess through the wrapped section and pull tight.
Repeat until tight and then snip the excess.
I think it adds the perfect touch! You could apply this method for any occasion or holiday!
These would also make a great host/hostess gift to the people who are preparing the holiday meal for the family! A great way to say Thank You!
What do you think? Could your holiday table use some bling?

Seriously. That’s all there is to it? I can do that! My daughter was given a butter knife and sugar spoon done like this several years ago as a gift….and won’t use them! Too special, she says! HA! Oh, girl, what would we do without you? Thanks SO much for this! Love ya, kiddo!

Yes simple as that! I think it only took me about 20 minutes to do all four utensils! I am going to keep these and make a set for my mom! My parents are hosting Christmas this year!

Thank you so much! I’ve been wanting to make these myself, but wasn’t sure how to begin and end. I’ll be gift-giving these as hostess gifts now.

So simple and I would never have thought of it! I am imagining this on a Christmas table but even more on a New Years one. How festive would that be?

What gauge wire did you use on these?
Cheryl Spangenberg says
Hi April, I don’t have the wire anymore but I know I just choose one that would fit through my beads and still be sturdy enough to hold shape. Sorry, I did this project a few years ago and can’t remember!
