If you have a small cutie in your life, this So Cute Even the Grinch Wants to Steal Me SVG is perfect for a Children’s Grinch Shirt or baby bodysuit this holiday season!
It is no secret that I love to make ALL. THE. SHIRTS. I can’t stop and I also love to make all things grinch so this works out pretty well for me, lol!
I used my Cricut Maker for this project but you can also use a Cricut Explore or a Silhouette cutting machine as well!
SUPPLIES FOR CHILDRENS’ GRINCH SHIRT:
- Cricut Cutting Machine (Amazon | Cricut)
- Iron on (Amazon | Expressions Vinyl | Cricut)
- Weeding Tool (Amazon | Cricut)
- EasyPress 2 with Mat (Amazon | Cricut)
- Your Favorite Blank Shirt or Baby Bodysuits (Amazon | Happy Crafters)
Find all my favorite blanks to personalize here and also my favorite Cricut Essentials and favorite Silhouette Essentials.
If you are new to Iron on you can check out my Everything Iron on (Iron on Basics) post here and also my detailed instructions on Cutting Iron on with a Cricut (or cutting iron on with a Silhouette) as well as my tips for best application.
How to Make Kid’s Grinch Shirt:
I started off by uploading the SVG into Cricut Design Space. I sized the design appropriately for the size of the shirt I am making.
Next, click Make It in the upper right corner of Design space and then it will take you to the Mat Screen. MOST IMPORTANT: MIRROR ALL YOUR MATS! You can do this by clicking the slider under each mat and making sure it is green where it mentions “mirrored”
Finally, I will click continue, connect my device and select my material and then load and cut the iron-on.
NOTE: If you are using Specialty iron on such as glitter, holographic or foil for the Santa hat, it’s important that you do not layer anything on TOP of these iron-on types. In that case, you will want to slice the designs and you can find a detailed tutorial on that here or use Everday iron on for the bottom and then specialty on top.
Using the weeding hook, I remove any excess iron-on leaving only my design left on the carrier sheet.
Now we need to apply. I am using my EasyPress 2 and mat. For children’s shirts, I like the 9 x 9 size and for baby onesies, I prefer the 6 x 7 size with appropriate coordinating mats.
I will consult the recommended heat settings page and then set my EasyPress accordingly. I press according to the recommendations!
Remove the carrier sheet and enjoy your creation!
