I love to celebrate Father’s Day. I think because I am so much of a Daddy’s Girl! My dad is just awesome and he has such a special love for my boys.
He enjoys being around them so much and he enjoys everything they do. The feeling is mutual as my boys just think the world of their “Papa”.

How to Etch the Glass of a Picture Frame
Create personalized photo frames by etching the glass of a picture frame! Customizable for any occasion, design, quote or holiday!
- Create your Design
Today I used my Cameo so I created my design in Silhouette Studio Software. You can do this in Cricut Design Space also. I created a canvas the size of my picture frame and placed my design in the corner to get a good visual if sizing!
- Cut your Vinyl Stencil
I used a piece of scrap removable vinyl. I also listed actual stencil vinyl in the supply list above. Cut the stencil so that there is some blank space around your words.
- Prepare the Glass
While the glass is still in the frame, clean the area with rubbing alcohol to remove any dust, dirt or fingerprints. Before applying the stencil, I placed it on the glass and marked were I wanted to position it with dry erase marker.
- Apply Vinyl Stencil
Carefully remove the glass from the frame and using transfer tape, apply the vinyl stencil to the glass using the dry erase marks as a guide.
- Apply Etching Cream
Read the directions on your specific etching cream. I applied a thick even coat and let sit for 15 minutes.
- Remove the Etching Cream
Did you know etching cream is reusable? It is, scrape it off your frame with a flat surface and scrape it back into your original bottle to use again! Rinse any remaining cream with water and remove your vinyl stencil.
- Finish your Frame
Replace the glass into your frame, add your favorite photo, and assemble the back of the frame! The perfect hand made gift!
