How to Make Double Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies:
Preheat your oven and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In one of the mixing bowls you will cream the butter and sugar together and then add the cocoa powder.
In a 2nd mixing bowl, add all your dry ingredients and sift together. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in 1 cup increments. Be sure the dry ingredients are mixed completely before you add the next increment. Continue until all the dry ingredients are mixed!
Roll the dough into golf ball sized balls and place on the parchment lined baking sheet. Using your thumb, press down the center of each dough ball. Here is where the cookie gets its name!
Bake for 8-10 minutes and let cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet and then move to a cooling rack to finish cooling.
If the centers rose a bit while baking, you can press them back down carefully, they will be hot.
In our 3rd mixing bowl you will combine the chocolate drizzle ingredients and mix well. Using a spoon, fill the centers of the chocolate cookies with chocolate drizzle!
