What do Reusable Drink Pouches look like?
So long to the days of trying to figure out how to get alcohol into a regular juice pouch. These reusable drink pouches have a wide open, resealable top similar to a Ziploc bag!
The wide bottoms allow them to stand on their own which means you don’t need an additional cup or holder for them!
Two large holes in the top allow for easy carrying or you can go so far as attaching a lanyard to both holes and wearing your pouch! (Hello St. Patrick’s day!)
The two smaller holes are perfect to slide in the coined juice pouch straw! Oh and did I mention these are so much easier to insert the straw into? Simply open a tiny area of the ziploc and insert!
What Can I add to adult drink pouches?
The sky is the limit my friend! What is your favorite beverage? You can add it! The only thing I recommend being cautious on is drinks with carbonation. That may cause the pouch to unseal or expand.
Cocktail Ideas to Add to Adult Juice Pouches:
- Peach Sangria
- Apple Cinnamon Sangria
- Strawberry Sangria
- Classic Margaritas – the BEST recipe
- Fresh Pineapple Margaritas
- Watermelon Margaritas
- Strawberry Pineapple Margaritas
- Copycat Lime-A-Ritas
- Kentucky Cousins
- Wine
- Vodka & Water
- Gin & Tonic
Can I Freeze Adult Drink Pouches?
Yes! These drink pouches are perfect for frozen drinks as well as regular ones.
Water freezes at 32F (0C) and pure ethanol alcohol will freeze at -173F (-114C). So our normal alcohols (tequila, rum, vodka, boubon, etc) will freeze somewhere inbetween.
Proof and volume, in addition to sugars and additives, also affect freezing temperatures of booze!
Alcohol Freezing Rule of Thumb:
– The higher the alcohol content, the lower (colder) the freezing point
– The lower the alcohol content, the higher (warmer) the freezing point
A good ratio of 1 part alcohol to 3 parts mixer is a good place to start to make frozen pouch beverages. Check-in on them frequently and give them a “massage” as freezing. Don’t fill too full as the liquid will expand as it freezes!
You could also make the frozen drink in the blender and add to the pouch and then keep chilled!
Where Would I use Adult Drink Pouches?
I know the question will come up, why use these to begin with? Why not a regular cup? Here we go:
- Pools and parks have rules about glass containers, these solve that problem
- Portable – the sealable and resealable top mean they travel well
- THEY ARE FUN! – I mean a drink from a pouch with booze? Yes, please!
- Most mixed drinks do not come in portable small, closed containers you need to MIX them, this helps solve that problem. Bring your drinks premixed!
What Occasions Can I use Adult Juice Pouches for?
- Holidays! (4th of July, St. Patrick’s Day, Mardi Gras, etc.)
- Bachelorette Parties
- Lake Weekends
- Festivals
- Girls Weekends
- Outdoor Park Concerts
- Neighborhood Block Parties
- Tuesday {wink}
- Pool Parties
How to Personalize an Adult Drink Pouch
I thought you’d never ask! Of course, we can personalize these drink pouches and of course, I will! You will need an electronic cutting machine such as a Cricut or Silhouette, some adhesive vinyl (permanent if you want it to stay put, removable if you want to take it off later.), weeding hook and transfer tape.
Today I am using my Cricut Joy because it’s the perfect size for the pouches. You can certainly use a Silhouette Cameo, Portrait or Cricut Explore or Maker.
I used some designs for the 4th of July today and here is where I found them:
- Red Wine & Blue – from me!
- Red White and Brew – from Happiness is Homemade
- Let’s Get Lit – from Hey, Let’s Make Stuff
- Patriotic Pineapple – from Pineapple Paper Co.
You could also apply this wine collection of SVG’s to these pouches as well as any other beverage decal in my shop!
Don’t forget that you could also put names and Monograms on them with these 30+ Free Monogram Fonts and my How to Make a Monogram in Cricut Design Space post.

Love the concept! I’m making party favors filled with candy first then can be used as a drink pouch (kid friendly); one problem, the Cricut Permanent Glossy Premium Vinyl is not adhering. I cleaned the surface with alcohol prior and let dry, and nothing. Two attempts, either peels right off or partial stick. Any suggestions? Different Permanent Adhesive? Appreciate any feedback. Time is no on my side. I thought this would be a slam-dunk project.
Cheryl Spangenberg says
Hi Michelle, I haven’t experienced this myself but I did consult some of my other Cricut friends. A few thoughts and questions. Was it not sticking across multiple colors or were you using one color? If one color you may have had a bad roll and should call customer service. Another suggestion was to zap it with a blow drier and let it sit for a bit before messing with it to see if that helps the adhesive hold on the pouches. Otherwise, I have had great luck with Oracle Vinyl. I know they have it at Michael’s if you can order online and pick it up?

Can I get a saying and a name on the pouch? Can the saying all be in same color, but the names be a different color. Also what would the cost be. I am looking at 12 and would like:
Party on the Peak as the saying and then the individual names.
Cheryl Spangenberg says
Hi Kim, I am not selling these! Just showing you how to make your own! Thanks for the interest though!

I bought these but can’t figure out how to get in to the zipper part. It does not pull apart on either side. Are mine defective or do you have to slice the plastic ?
Cheryl Spangenberg says
They should definitely pull apart. Some were definitely harder to open than others (the first time) I had to tug but they all came open.
