What is Embroidery?
Embroidery is the craft of creating patterns and designs on fabric or other materials using different colored threads. Embroidery may also incorporate other materials such as pearls, beads, quills, and sequins
Embroidery can be performed by hand using an embroidery hoop and needle or by using an embroidery machine.
What is Applique?
Applique, meaning “application,” is a patchwork technique, created by sewing one piece of fabric on to another to add dimension and texture to a piece of an existing fabric (your final product).
Appliques are stitched into place. The edges can remain as is or they can be finished with an embroidered satin stitch. This stitch is normally done with a machine but can be completed by hand for smaller areas.
