Today I am thrilled to share with you how to make this cute Santa Bucket!
This cute little bin can be used for so many different things! First let’s see how to make it!
Items needed:
- Small Galvanized Bin
- Red Spray Paint
- Black Acrylic Paint
- Painters Tape
- Paint Brush
- Gold Glitter scrapbook paper
- Xacto Knife
First off, I found my bin in the $2.50 bin at Target already painted red!!! If you can’t find this one, as those value bins at Target are very hit or miss, then simply spray a regular galvanized one with red spray paint. A paint bucket type (found at Lowe’s ) would also be really cute!
Next Tape off the belt area with painters tape, and fill in with the black acrylic paint.
While that is drying, using an Xacto knife, cut your belt buckle. Make sure the opening of the buckle is the same width as your belt you painted. (this is the backside of the glitter paper)
When the belt paint is dry attach the buckle with hot glue.
This bin can be multi-purposed for so many different things!
Christmas Cards
Both ones you send and ones you get. If your family is like ours we send over 100 Christmas cards. Freddy and I both have large families and we have moved several times and added more friends along the way! Not many people have the time or patience to sit down and address, stuff, slick and stamp 100 cards during one sitting. Why not use this cute bin to gather all your necessities? Put your address book, cards, envelopes, stamps, pens, return address labels and any other pretty decorations you add to your cards right in this bin! It’s cute enough to leave out so you can tackle a few cards at a time!
Use it to house all the cards you receive. Then they are at your finger tips if you want to look at them again!
Packaging for Presents
This bin would be perfect for filling with some of the great handmade gifts I will share with you or some yummy cookies you make! No need to wrap it in paper, it’s cute enough as it is! Attach a gift tag to one of the handles and your recipient will be able to enjoy the contents and the bin itself!
Wrapping Station
This would be adorable filled with your ribbons and bows and scissors and tape! Keep all those gift tags and small wrapping items in one place!
Mail/Keys Bin
Set this by your front door and it can be a catch all bin for the mail and your car keys, wallets, etc. instead of them just laying around your tables and counters!
The options are endless and it was so easy to make!

We use a Santa Bucket for the items that Santa has left for the whole family to enjoy (such as the Wii that Santa brought one year!)
