One of my favorite things to do when it’s time to put up my tree is to look through all the ornaments as we hang them! These Keepsake Fingerprint Ornaments will be cherished for years to come!
I adore the photograph ones, and the ones that my mom gave me from my childhood! I love to create new ornaments using my favorite small people’s finger and hand prints so you can always remember how small they once were! Today I have some super fun fingerprint keepsake ornaments to share as a member of the We R Memory Keepers/Lifestyle Crafts Studio Teams.
Supplies Needed for a Fingerprint Ornament:
- Evolution
- Genius Platform
- Rosette Template Dies
- Hot Glue/Glue Sticks
- Cardstock (Three different coordinating colors)
- Sticky Thumb
- Fine Sharpie
- Ink Pads
- twine
- Orange Sharpie (optional for snowman)
- Small Red Pom Poms (optional for Rudolph)
I started out by using the rosette die with the holes along the outside. The set comes with two different types of rosettes.
I cut the rosette with the holes along the outside out of cardstock and then cut the larger center circle in a coordinating color and then the smallest circle die out of white cardstock. All of these dies along with the other rosette die came in the package above.
I accordion folded the rosette piece along the perforated lines!
I assembled these using hot glue.
I tied some twine through the holes on the rosette to make a hanging ornament.
Next I added the white center circle using my sticky thumb adhesive.
I used my favorite small people’s fingers to make the characters. We had several cousins and friends over for a crafty day! They could choose from Rudolph, a Snowman or Santa. For Rudolph I used a black sharpie and red pom poms and for the snowman a black sharpie and an orange sharpie.
Now you have a cute keepsake! Add their name and the date, especially if you have more than one set of little fingers living in your house. You will NOT remember next year who’s are who’s!
While I had all the ink pads out…I got out some regular paper bags and used these DIY Christmas Stamps that I made last year to let the kids decorate the bag as gift wrap. Dropped in the ornament and they had a fun gift to give their parents or grandparents!
